Bring Our Nutrition Education Program To Your School
In response to the many Houstonians who are passionate about fostering healthy eating habits in children, we will host a transformative day of learning and discovery at Hope Farms on Monday, February 17, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ orientation goes beyond traditional nutrition education – it’s a comprehensive journey from farm-to-table that will revolutionize how you think about teaching healthy eating habits to children.
Our award-winning Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ program is designed to teach, empower, and inspire young minds to make nutritious choices. We’re excited to invite parents, advocates, teachers, administrators, and volunteers to an immersive orientation.
What You'll Experience
During this engaging four-hour session, participants will:
- Hands-On Cooking and Gardening: Engage in practical activities that connect the journey from seed to plate.
- Farm-to-Table Lunch: Enjoy a meal prepared with fresh, locally grown produce.
- Sample Lesson Plans: Explore our curriculum designed to make healthy eating fun and accessible for children.
- Professional Development Credits: Earn credits while enhancing your teaching toolkit.
- Path to Certification: Learn about becoming a Certified S2P Instructor to implement this program in your community.

Whether you’re a teacher looking to enhance your classroom offerings, a parent wanting to bring better nutrition education to your child’s school, or an administrator seeking innovative programs, this orientation will provide you with the tools and inspiration needed to implement our proven curriculum.
Our Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ program has earned recognition for its effectiveness in teaching children about healthy eating through hands-on experiences. By connecting students directly with their food’s journey – from planting seeds to preparing meals – we create engaging learning experiences that foster lasting healthy habits.
Testimonial
“My kindergartner goes to Lyons, last year she started coming home really excited about fruits and vegetables, and I know it’s because of her exposure to the RFS program. She’s making healthier choices and telling me what I should and shouldn’t eat. When we go to Chucky Cheese, she gets the salad now!!”
