Comin’ In Hot! Pro-Am Hot Sauce Competition

WHO MAKES THE BEST HOT SAUCE IN TOWN?

     Is it one of Houston’s red-hot chefs or an undiscovered amateur? Recipe for Success Foundation is intent on finding out and will award the winner $500 and a spot on the shelves of the Hope Farms Market for a year.  Four judges—all food journalists from Houston will select the winner from among all the contestants in a blind tasting.  Five spicy pros are lined up to compete against ten home cooks.  Up to compete?      A $5 donation to attend the event can be made online.  Click HERE to get your tickets. (Note that children under 10 are free with an adult.) Guests get a taste of all the entries and an opportunity to vote for the Audience Favorite. Saint Arnold Brewing will be offering free beer to anyone over 21 and Hope Farms will have botanical non-alcoholic beverages, music, games and crafts to round out the day’s fun. Ticket holders will be able to purchase additional refreshments and farm-fresh produce.

Fashion in the Fields

Chaired by Elizabeth Phillips along with her daughters, Ariel Lopez and Brittany Faulk, and granddaughters Finley Lopez, Hallie and Rose Faulk, 2025’s beautiful, family-friendly show will celebrate Earth Day with fashions from Sachin + Babi, Mason’s Daughter, Itsy Bitsy, Magpies & Peacocks, M. Penner and other local fashion leaders along with a fabulous Sunday brunch served up by a brigade of our towns most fabulous chefs, on April 27, 2025 at Hope Farms.

Elizabeth and her crew are joined by a host committee of Moms and Grandmothers, along with their children & grandchildren, for this fabulous, family-friendly celebration of fashion and food.


It is an exciting opportunity for the little ones to have their first experience chairing a fundraising event. Fashion in the Fields is one of Recipe for Success Foundation’s biggest fundraisers of the year. It provides critical support for our programs to teach, empower, and inspire healthy eating, including work to distribute farm-grown produce to our city’s most vulnerable families with young children. SEASONAL FARM WALKS
We thank our annual fund supporters and donors with a unique opportunity to enjoy the farm. Please consider making your contribution today and stay tuned for your invitation to join us. Beginning with a reception, featuring craft cocktails from Tito’s Handmade Vodka, we embark on a tour with our farm team to  connect to the seasonal rhythms and learn about what we have been up to lately, including a visit with the chickens. At sunset we return to the barn to enjoy farm-fresh hors d’oeuvres  with wines to match. These invitation-only events are reserved for our generous annual fund donors.

DELICIOUS ALCHEMY BANQUET

We have long celebrated gathering around a beautiful table for a meal among friends, the hallmark of our Delicious Alchemy Banquet, which will celebrate our 20th Anniversary of changing lives in 2025. As Houston’s torrid summer melts into a beautiful autumn and the feasting season begins, there is no better place to congregate than our bucolic Hope Farms in the city’s heart. The evening raises critical funds to keep our programs serving Houston’s most vulnerable populations.

20th Anniversary Chairs Virginia and Will McMullen welcome you to the farm on Monday, November 10, for our spectacular Delicious Alchemy Banquet. Ten exquisite courses, crafted by ten extraordinary chefs, will celebrate Houston’s rich culinary diversity in a glorious pastoral setting—or, as the Chronicle says, “the ultimate dinner party.” This year, our entire chef brigade will be women! We hope you will be there.
