UH Architects Design Urban Farm for Sunnyside

There are few places residents to buy fresh fruits and vegetables in of Sunnyside, a part of Houston considered to be a food desert. But a nonprofit group’s proposal to develop an urban farm in the neighborhood aims to change that.

Recipe for Success, which promotes healthy eating, is behind a plan to develop an urban garden in the south Houston neighborhood. The proposal is part of the group’s “Hope Farms” initiative to provide Houstonians with homegrown produce and offer training to urban farmers.
