Meet Our Chef in Residence, Khalieb Rufael
We’re thrilled to introduce our Chef in Residence, Khalieb Rufael, who brings a rich blend of global influence, creative artistry, and community spirit to Hope Farms. Join us on Saturday, November 1st, for our First Saturday “Feast” Market, where Chef Khalieb will lead our sold-out Chefs in the Field Cooking Class. While the class spots have all been claimed, the market is open to everyone—come out to enjoy morning yoga, gardening workshops, farm-fresh produce, and delicious inspiration from Chef Khalieb himself.
ABOUT CHEF KHALIEB RUFAEL
“My name is Khalieb Rufael, also known as Chef Khalieb or Cheff Truffle. I discovered my passion for cooking in college while pursuing a degree in Business Management, combining my artistic creativity with my love for food. My family’s journey began in Asmara, Eritrea, before relocating to Italy as refugees—a story that deeply influences my culinary identity.
In 2019, I began training in Houston’s top kitchens before traveling to France to study sustainable farming, later refining both Italian and Eritrean recipes with my grandmother in Rome. Since then, I’ve worked in some of Houston’s best restaurants and, in 2024, won a cooking competition at SXSW, which was featured in the short film ROUND ROCK on YouTube.
My mission as a chef is to uplift my community through storytelling and food that inspires meaningful connection and positive change.”
Celebrating Culinary Creativity & Community Impact
We’re honored to have Chef Khalieb bring his passion and creativity to Hope Farms as part of our Chefs in the Field series. Even if you missed the chance to join his sold-out class, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the energy, flavors, and community spirit at our First Saturday “Feast” Market.
