Houston’s boldest hot sauce makers are ready to bring the heat — and we need you to pick the winner. On August 1st, 2026, from 10am to 1pm, Hope Farms hosts its fiery annual Hot Sauce Competition, where pros and amateurs alike go head-to-head for two titles: Judge’s Choice and Fan Favorite. General admission is just $10, or snag a family 4-pack for $25 — every ticket directly supports Recipe for Success Foundation’s mission to teach, empower, and inspire healthy eating in Houston kids. With your ticket, you’ll sample every entry and cast your vote for Fan Favorite. But the fun doesn’t stop there: enjoy free beer from Saint Arnold Brewing, refreshing botanical beverages from the farm, yard games, kids’ activities, live music, ice cream, and farm-fresh produce — including our famous hot peppers straight from the field.

We have long celebrated gathering around a beautiful table for a meal among friends, the hallmark of our Delicious Alchemy Banquet, which will celebrate our 20th Anniversary of changing lives in 2025. As Houston’s torrid summer melts into a beautiful autumn and the feasting season begins, there is no better place to congregate than our bucolic Hope Farms in the city’s heart. This year, we will honor our founders, Gracie and Bob Cavnar, with this evening, which raises critical funds to keep our programs serving Houston’s most vulnerable populations.

20th Anniversary Chairs, Virginia and Will McMullen, welcome you to the farm on Monday, November 3, for our spectacular Delicious Alchemy Banquet. Ten exquisite courses, crafted by ten extraordinary chefs, will celebrate Houston’s rich culinary diversity in a glorious pastoral setting—or, as the Chronicle says, “the ultimate dinner party.” This year, our entire chef brigade will be women!
